Like Glitter

A friend of mine challenged me to write a poem about the game we both play, the stories that we tell and leave behind for other players to see. Thanks for the seed, Kel.

Words dance
Multicolored hues of speech and thought and feeling
Grains of sand
In the grand scheme of things

I leave a mark
A temporary thing in the medium of the temporary
I leave love and hate and blood and tears
In my wake

Strolling through the woods
Ambling along the beach
Slogging through the swamp
Swimming in the lake
You may find my marks

They scatter like glitter on the wind
My words
Your words
The words of an entire community
Shining
There for the indulgence

Find them
